Bank BNI Syariah menerima penghargaan Indonesia Banking Award 2016 di Jakarta PT Bank BNI Syariah berhasil meraih tiga penghargaan sekaligus dalam gelaran Indonesia Banking Award 2016, yang diselenggarakan oleh Tempo Media Group dan Indonesia Banking School, di Jakarta, Rabu 7/9. Direktur Operasional BNI Syariah Junaidi Hisom mengungkapkan bahwa ketiga penghargaan tersebut yakni The Most Reliable Bank, diikuti penghargaan The Most Efficient Bank, dan The Best Bank in Retail Banking Services berdasarkan aset lebih dari Rp10 triliun. "Penilaian efisiensi bank dilihat dari BOPO Biaya Operasional terhadap Pendapatan Operasional, kualitas aset, ROA return of asset, NPL non performing loan, LDR loan to deposit ratio," kata Junaidi dalam siaran persnya, Jumat 9/9/2016. Sedangkan untuk reliable bank, lanjut Junaidi, penilaian dilihat dari laporan kinerja rasio keuangan tahun 2014-2015. Untuk kelompok The Best Bank in Digital Services, pengelompokan pemenang didasari jumlah aset, yaitu di atas Rp 100 triliun, antara Rp 50 hingga Rp 100 triliun, dan di bawah Rp 50 Tim penilai dalam IBA 2016 terdiri atas Kepala Indonesia Banking School Subarjo Joyosumarto, Direktur CORE Indonesia Hendri Saparini, dan Direktur Tempo Media Grup Toriq Hadad. Tim tersebut bertugas menentukan pemenang berdasarkan syarat yang telah ditentukan. Penentuan pemenang penghargaan didasari data laporan keuangan bank serta kinerja keuangan. Untuk kelompok The Best Bank in Digital Services, penentuan pemenang didasari website bank, pemberitaan pihak ketiga, dan riset Tempo. Kriteria pemenang juga dilihat dari jumlah dan pertumbuhan layanan keuangan digital LKD 2015-2016, LKD Standar, dan LKD Unggulan. Kriteria berbeda diterapkan untuk kelompok Diversity of the Board. Data yang digunakan sebagai dasar penilaian ialah data mengenai dewan direktur dan dewan komisaris serta laporan tahunan bank 2015. Kriteria pemenangnya adalah keragaman pengalaman bank dan nonbank, tingkat pendidikan, usia, dan jenis kelamin. Selain itu, bank harus tidak termasuk bank asing. Pemenang penghargaan The Most Efficient Bank turut menjadi pertimbangan. Acara IBA 2016 diadakan di Hotel JS Luwansa, Kuningan, Jakarta pada Rabu malam, 7 September 2016, yang dihadiri oleh anggota Deputi Komisioner Otoritas Jasa Keuangan OJK Nelson Tampubolon.
